I’m proud to present our first Pixelshell tutorial: an illustrated 5 minute guide on making and implementing your own ‘favicon’.
Most sites these days feature a ‘favicon’, but there are still some that don’t, so if you’re not sure what it is, then let me give you a very quick description. A favicon is a little icon that’s displayed by the side of a website address in the address bar, or the favorites/bookmarks lists on most browsers. Here’s a picture of the Pixelshell favicon seen in the Safari browser:

If you don’t already know how to implement your own, then please check out the tutorial. It’s a very short and sweet guide, so I hope you like it. We plan to release more guides very soon, so make sure to check back later for updates.

Hello reader… The site is currently under heavy development, so a lot of the stuff around here won’t work and may not look quite right yet, so if you’ve found your way here somehow and are wondering why half the links don’t work, that is why.
Current progress: Having some success with blog templating, but the client contact form is still proving to be a nightmare to do… Planning to get the site finished by the end of this week (Friday 7th) — so please check back later to see the finished article.

I’d like to talk about something that has been talked about a lot in the Mac community (well, at least in the circles of those who care about user interfaces or are just really fussy about the way their desktop looks). Since Steve Jobs has premiered the new OS X Leopard operating system features for the Mac in June, the new and refreshed user interface (UI) has been received with mixed feelings–some very negative, especially regarding the transparent menu bar at the top of the desktop.
